Building Great People

Welcome to Kukenam Camp, a place where unforgettable summer adventures come to life! We take immense pride in offering two extraordinary Camp experiences: Kukenam Day Camp and Kukenam Sleepaway Camp.

Our Rich History

Kukenam Camp is the fruit of a visionary partnership between three seasoned Camp Directors, Andreina Valenzuela, Andrés Vidal and Alexandra Pinza. With a collective experience of more than 28 years in the world of camps, their dream was to create a strong family-oriented program for children and youth. Their vision has brought Kukenam Camp to life, offering a unique blend of physical and mental development, healthy competition, and boundless fun.

Our Mission: Nurturing Tomorrow’s Leaders

At Kukenam Camp, we believe that every child has the potential to become a leader in their own right. Our mission is to foster the growth of young minds by helping them acquire essential life skills. We do this through a dedicated team of trained counselors and staff who ensure that campers have a safe, engaging, and transformative experience.

Our Core Values

(Our Camp provides the environment to develop skills for life)

We empower campers to take initiative and lead with confidence, instilling in them the values of family leadership that will guide them throughout life.

Building a strong sense of self-belief and confidence is at the heart of our program, nurturing each camper’s self-worth and self-assurance.

We place great importance on fostering respect, among campers with their peers and the entire staff but also for the environment. It’s a fundamental family value that we hold dear.

Encouraging innovative thinking and creativity is a key pillar of our camp experience. We believe that creative minds make the world a better place.

Developing strong interpersonal skills is crucial. We emphasize the value of teamwork within the camp community, mirroring the support and cooperation found in strong families.

Andrés Vidal

Coming from a very large and close family, my life its all about family and friendship. I Grew up surrounded by farms, outdoor activities and camps. I have been involve in summer camps since I was 11 and start as a camper, at 17 as a counselor, at 23 I became the founder/director of my own summer camp in Venezuela called CAMPAMENTO WATAU.

At 33 I moved to USA and cofounded and Direct KUKENAM

I am a former Board Member of the Venezuelan Camp Association (ASOVENCAMP). I am a certified International Camp Director with training in Venezuela, Colombia and Canada by the International Camping Fellowship (ICF). Also a member of the American Camp Association (ACA) with continuous training for the last 15 years.

Now, I’m 42 years old, married for 12 years with my beautiful wife Alexandra (also a camp director) and with 2 amazing kids, Tomas (8) and Valentina (3)

Graduated from law school in Venezuela but working as a real estate advisor in Miami, FL for the last 8 years. I still keep summer camp as a very important part of my life. I personally manage and supervise all the legal aspects of camp, contracts and I personally oversee the recruitment and training of our counselors. I also work as the camp director on every sleepaway session we open because I enjoy being able to provide the magic environment for child growth that only summer camp can provide.

Andreína Valenzuela

When I arrived in this country, after failing in two businesses, a childhood friend recommended me for organizing camps, something I am good at. An unexpected call led me to an interview full of nerves and questions. I accepted the challenge of organizing a camp in just 15 days, including promotion, finding guides, and setting up a company. With effort and help from relatives, we managed a successful one-week camp with 80 children, thus giving birth to “Kukenam”.

I have been in this industry for 28 years, starting with my sisters Daniella and Claudia in our family business, and with our cousin Andrés as a guide. Continuing this dream in the U.S. has been a unique and rewarding experience. As a director, it fills my soul to know that my work has a positive impact on the lives of others.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Administration, with a specialization in Management, and I have certifications in first aid, lifeguarding, and rappelling techniques. My daughters, Simona and Paulina, have grown up in the camp and now are part of our team. Seeing them follow in our footsteps in this family business is invaluable.

Alexandra Pinza

As a camp director, a proud mother of two beautiful children, and a Human Resources professional, I’ve dedicated the last two decades of my life to the world of camps. Starting at Venezuela with a passion for creating memorable experiences and fostering personal growth, my journey in the camping industry has been incredibly rewarding. I’m thrilled to lead this camp, drawing upon my diverse background to ensure that every camper’s experience is both fun and transformational. It’s also my utmost priority that parents feel well-supported and have complete peace of mind when entrusting their children to us, knowing that we provide a safe and nurturing environment.

Our Commitment to Safety

At Kukenam Camp, the safety, well-being, and happiness of every camper are our top priorities. We ensure this by having one or more Camp Directors/Owners on-site throughout the camp session. With over two decades of camp experience, our directors personally lead and supervise every aspect of our programs. Our dedication to safety and fun is unwavering.
